    Hi there!

I’m relatively new to hot yoga (been going regularly for over 2 months and am currently challenging myself to 30 days!). I am totally in love with it and have no intention of stopping any time soon. My question has to do with knee pain.

I have noticed both strengthening in my knees, but also a lot more pain as I’ve continued on through doing yoga, particularly in fixed firm, but also when I’ve done some of the “power yoga” and vinyasa that my studio has to offer (along with hatha). I am wondering if this is a pain that will subside and get better in time or if it’s something I should pay careful attention to so that it doesn’t get worse. I am careful not to push myself during class. Most of this pain comes after class is done.

I have tight hips and also tight hamstrings and I don’t know if this has anything to do with the knee pain. The type of pain is almost a burning pain and stiffness. I am beginning to wonder if I have developed arthritis in my knees as I’ve played sports for most of my life (skiing and softball) and have sustained minor injuries in my knees at various times.

Any advice or suggestion is welcome!
