    Hi everyone.

I have been doing hot yoga now for two months and I love it. I go 3-4 times per week, and have also lost approximately 20lb in this time. I have noticed recently that my legs, especially the calves, are covered in large bruises, but I dont know if this is related to my Yoga practice or to another factor. Has anyone else had this problem?

I would love any ideas you may have. I have never had a particular tendency to bruise easily, though this may now be increased as I am 70lb lighter that I was – could it just be that?

    Hi Rachael

I have scooted your answer into the fast lane because I have not heard of anyone having a bruising issue particularly related to practising (hot) yoga. If you haven’t already, go and see a medical practitioner and get a blood test and see if there is anything out of the ordinary happening there. That would probably be the best place to start.

Thanks Gabrielle. I am going to visit my Doctor just in case. Thanks for your swift reply!

I am hoping it is nothing serious as it is only on my legs and nowhere else, and I can identify where a few of them have come from (moving furniture etc) but not all of them! Also, they seem very slow to heal. I just wanted to rule out my Yoga as a cause.

    Thanks again

    Namaste

Just an update – the problem has now gone away, and apparently was partly caused by a few burt capilliaries from over enthusiastic exercise(not yoga) and that in general my bruising is exacerbated by the large amounts of weight I have lost and will settle down. Thanks for your swift response!
