On my right side, I can’t grab my right foot. I keep trying every day, the whole minute, both sets and its still not possible. I saw other people use a towel, but I dont want to get dependent on anything. Is there anything I can do to be more successful?
JessicaHi Jessica
I think it’s great that you are resistant to get too used to taking a short cut in your practice. However, in your case I would probably try a strap or a towel. Commit that it will be just a temporary measure and you will be OK. The pose mechanism that you set up by creating the traction will have you progressing towards your goal in a shorter time than the struggle that is occurring at the moment. Just be careful to externally rotate the arm, if you can, while you use your prop. This means thumb towards the back wall.
Oh, if you can grab the outside of your foot with thumb forward that would be a great place to start even though it doesn’t engage the exact pose mechanism.

Gabrielle 🙂Hi there
I also have trouble grabbing my ankle/foot for this pose. My instructor told me I could grab it from the outside and work my hand to the inside, for the first set anyway. Then I try it the regular way for the second set. It has worked well for me, but I can tell you it ain’t pretty! LOLGood luck,

Yes, that works. I probably would do the outside grip for the first set for a while because you definitely would have a more positive grip, which means you would make greater progress (physically speaking 😉 ) that way. This would make it much easier over time.
Perhaps in the last few weeks you’ve found changes have happened anyway. Let us know
