Is anyone a real doctor here other than hotyogadoctor? 🙂 I need your opinion. I don’t want to go to my doctor..

Ok.. here is the story. Last Tuesday (Mar 16) at work, I was trying to push a heavy (127 lbs) box on the floor. While pushing forward, I heard a “pop” and then felt a tear on my left chest. I immediately feel pain and soreness when I try to move in a certain angle. I didn’t know what it was, but I continue my work. That night I try to test my chest’s condition by sleeping on my stomach. The pain is still there. Looks like I only feel pain when there is pressure. I can feel the pain when I push on the area close to the breastbone. There is no pain when I inhale and exhale. The pain didn’t get worst but didn’t go away either. So I decide to go to yoga on my usual weekend schedule. I feel nothing during the standing poses. It is during the floor series that I feel discomfort. I don’t want to miss my already limited weekend yoga.. but I think I’ll have to take a break.

Can someone please diagnose my “injury”? I don’t think it is a heart condition. It might just be a pull of chest muscle/soft tissue I hope.

I don’t want to say it is …. or is not…. something as I am NOT a doctor. However it ‘sounds’ like a soft tissue injury that I would not be too worried about in terms of perm or serious damage. HOwever having said that I would take a break and wait for the pain to go away before attempting yoga again to give the tissue time to heal… you could also head to a massage therapist,
PS if it does not get better with rest ice and love then I would not hesitate and see your doc good luck

    Thanks Amy.

I asked my instruction and he also said it might be a muscle/issue injury. He also mentions that this is a possibility that it is a rib popped out of position.
