Hi newbie here, I usually take my bikram yoga at 4:00 pm what should I be eating before taking this class? so that I will have energy.
This is a tough question….. people tolerate diff things … well differently ! Some can drink and some feel sick some need the fuel before hand some feel sick, some can eat right after some feel sick ect You will have to find what works best for YOU. However here are some tips and what I find works for me…
I DO need the energy….. If I went in FULLY empty I would pass out ! So I eat something light in my belly about an hour before class. A couple of rice cakes and fruit for example. A glass of milk and an apple. A smoothie…. all good ideas. you want something light non filling and easily digested … in your body. Have fun experimenting and good luck. let me knowfraseram, I had salad yesterday my energy was up but I had so much gas,I will continue with my search and let you know.
If I am doing a later class for lunch I will have a lite veggie based soup and bread and then an hour before milk and fruit or whatever… hope that helps
PS too cute!! yeah …. raw veggies (not a good idea) heavy on the bloat factor for me!For a 4pm class I am thinking a hearty bow of oatmeal around noon.
I take a 10am class – I start the day out with 4 eggwhites and 2 yolks.
Eggs? Are you kidding me? That is the gassiest food out there!
I have no problem-o’s with the eggs. They are the perfect protein, absorbs quickly and then the egg yolks are the perfect fat.
For me it’s bread or crackers with honey about 1-2 hours before hand.
Greed got the better of me once and I gobbled a Tiramisu before class. Needless to say, it’s a no no I’ve learnt the hard way.
