    Hi Gabrielle,

I have recently begun practising this pose, and I find my heel hurts whenever I grip my foot from underneath. It is as if all my weight was crushing my heel; very painful. And it is worse when I try pushing it forward :-S

I have tried putting an extra towel under, but that doesn’t help me much. I have the same problem on my ankles on fixed firm, and with my knees on rabbit. But for fixed firm and rabbit the towel does help.

I wonder if you have any suggestions on how to avoid that. how about using a pillow?? would that change the pose too much for me?

    Hi Liliana

Where exactly are you gripping the foot?

And… what exactly are you pushing forward?

I just need a little more specific info to take this further!

    Hi Gabrielle,

I have my 10 fingers around the ball of my foot. ANd I am pushing my heel forward. I have quite a bit of restriction on my torso when I go down: worse on the inner-side. I do bend my leg to get the forhead on the knee. But, when I push my heel out it hurts… maybe I am pushing it down??

    Not sure..

    Hi Liliana

How bent up is your knee when you descend? At what point do your hands contact your foot? On the travel down, or once you have your head on your knee?

    Hi Gabrielle,

My knee is bent up, about4 inches from the floor. I get my forhead on the knee before griping the foot. I feel quite a bit of resistance on my torso as I turn to the side before going down. I wonder if that is part of the problem….

    Thanks!!

    Liliana
