Hi – I am new here and it is a great site! I have been practicing for some time and a while back (few years ago) I go an ankle sprain which they called inversion injury. It healed but noticed after my hip on one side was very stiff. I cannot do a third of what I can on one side for the triangle or rotation also an issue on one side only. It has stayed the same despite a physio looking at it and saying there was no obvious injury. My tutor said to almost not stretch over very far at all as I am out of line but not doing anything I am totally unbalanced and always have strain tenseness on one side. Any thoughts on this? I also meditate a lot so could this be causing it too???
I just want to get it better but don’t want to aggravate the problem. Should I try to stretch it out more? I know correct posture is so important but it is not improving.
Any advice would be appreciated. Colleen
Hi Colleen
Thanks! It would really help to confirm if the ankle that had the sprain is on the same side of the body that the hip tightness is.
What position do you sit in when you meditate?
In what ways do you notice that you have a preference for one leg over the other? Do you walk more heavily on one leg, lean on one leg when you’re standing? Do you cross your legs when you’re sitting down on a regular chair or lounge chair? Do you tend to stand with more weight on one leg when you’re stationary?
