Apologies if this has already been asked/answered: Is there any benefit to practicing at home or when traveling when heating the room is not feasible? I live in Thailand – homes do not have heating systems and you’d be hard-pressed to find a space heater on the market! Thanks.

    Hi Erica

Yes it has been answered before but no matter! Here goes: better to do yoga in no heat than no yoga at all. :cheese:

The heat does make it more satisfying and ‘better’ because you can go more deeply into poses and more safely too. You may not have a heater but close the windows and maybe wear clothing that covers you a bit more. You will be sweating before long. Sunlight in your room may be sufficient to heat it up enough to break a sweat even without too much movement.

I have gone on Vacation or had times where it just was not possible to do it w/ the heat. II have to tell you… I get A LOT out a ‘cold’ practice too 🙂 No it is not THE SAME…… but the Yoga is like sex , pizza and chocolate, even if it’s bad it’s still pretty good 😉
KIDDING !! but you get my point LOL

I recently started doing my yoga at home with just a space heater. I was not able to get close to the benefits I experienced in the studio. I bought a sauna suit and used it for the first time today. It was amazing, I was sweating and it kept my body warm enough so I could go deeper into the postures. One of these suits is ideal for home and easy to travel with. I highly recommend it to anyone who is having trouble getting the correct temperature at home. I was much more satisfied with my results.
