I was curious of other peoples mantras that they recite during class. I have yet to find one other than “please don’t pass out” :-S

current mantra : where am I at today?
prev mantra : lets kick it up a notch
current mantra : what are you feeling…. right now?
prev mantra : dont fall dont fall dont fall Sh#^ I fell !!!!!
current mantra : breathe and relax breathe and relax …… concentrate oops!! ok try again here we go breath and relax ….
LOL I just found it funny how my inner voice has changed so much over the years. just thought I would share but seriously if I were to pick out the most used mantra that I say to myself it would be
BE HERE BE NOW breathe and relax

Funny, I have tried this…to “set intention” like (be calm/be positive/etc)…but I find that does not last long. So I focus on trying to remember to breath…and even that is an effort most days.

My “natural” mantra is simpley, “Jesus Christ, it’s HOT.” Then, I change that to “Just breathe–it’s gonna be OK,” recited to the tune of Lady Gaga’s “Just Dance” 🙂

My mantra the other day at 6am class was the travelocity gnome guy, going
“deedle dee dee DEE DEE DEE
I need to get OUT OF HERE
A doodle do do DEE DEE DEE…”

As I definitely suffer from “noisy-brain” syndrome, I do try really hard to focus on my breath. Counting sometimes helps. I do a lot of self-shushing (ssshhhh be quiet voice in my head…)

My current focus (which waxes and wanes) is trying to BE PRESENT – so I consciously bring my mind into the room with my body, try to leave the noise in my head outside, and stay focused on the mirror ahead.

Care of AVATAR my current favorite mantra is (looking straight into my own eyes in each standing savasana between poses) “I see you…” It has been working pretty well actually 🙂
