Hi all,
I’m thinking about doing a back to back class, meaning that there would be a 30 minute break between the classes. What is your routine during this break period?
1. What do you recommend eating or drinking during this break?
2. Do you change your workout outfit? Or is it pointless since you’re going to be drenched in sweat anyways?
3. Do you change your mat position or do you just leave it in the exact same spot?
4. Is it harder then when you space out the two sessions by a couple of hours? I can do two classes in a day comfortably, but haven’t attempted back to back.Any additional advice?
Thanks!!!
i left my mat and room went out and went to the washroom refill water ect… i do not change or move my mat. I do have an energy drink between classes though to keep me going. i have a full glass of coconut milk and a scoop of whey protein powder.
Hi pic002
Thanks for posting! Welcome to the forum. There have actually been a number of discussions of double classes. They crop up all over the place: Here is one: Doubles.
I am out the door now, but will come back and search for another big discussion that I remember. In the meantime if anyone else remembers where it is, please feel free!
Namaste
Gabrielle 🙂Whenever I do a double back to back, I hydrate ALOT before. When I’m done my first class I’ll have a coconut water (natural sports drink with so much more potassium) and an orange. I’ll go to the bathroom and do the class with the same outfit. Depending on my mood I’ll change my mat. If I feel that I won’t be performing very well I’ll put myself out of sigh for the new students.
Love doubles. I find it much harder to do a back to back double than one spaced out.
Enjoy!
I change my costume and towel for the mat.
I replace electrolytes and hydrate.Have often wanted to try a double, but found it difficult enough to recover after a single. I perspire easily, and a lot. I hear about all the toxins that are being released in the sweat, but I lose a lot of salt and other electrolytes too. I find that the coconut milk is not enough. I have switched to using a 32 oz bottle of Gatorade (G2) in class instead of water. I also drink an 8 oz glass of V8-low-sodium before class, and at least one 8 oz glass after class. I know the “low-sodium” sounds strange, but they get rid of some of the sodium and load up with 820 mg of potassium in 8 oz of juice. Combined with the G2, it seems to do the trick. I recover much quicker after class and feel I might be ready to do a double.
