    Hello all,
Hope all is going well with you all.Today,I have an issue I would like to put on the table….It concerns what I see as a form of sexism.I am a male who can not even imagine taking a bikram class with a top on….I appreciate very much being able to take my classes topless and was wondering how the females of the Bikram world feel about this..I understand that it would be a bit uncomfortable for some oversized ladies but,for the ones who are petite,I do not see a problem. The problem most likely would be with the males who are not accustomed to the idea and would not be able to maintain their concentration and balance….
Today being a sunday and such a beautiful one,I thought I would come up with a topic that we could have some fun with…So,please try to keep the comments on the fun side.

I have a home practice and a studio practice,,,,, I AM on the UMMM smaller scale lets just say and at home do practice either top off or total comando LOL. I have no problems and IF I felt that the others in class were mature I would totally go for it in the studio (if I would not be arrested that is) but alas here in canada it would not be legal

Hehe, clearly you don’t have breasts! Doing some of the forward bends might involve some SERIOUS movement!!

Hmm, I think the sweat dripping from my nose is enough said about not wearing a top. I would have to try it to form a true objectionable opinion, but I think it may be too sweaty for me.

Not sure where in you are in Canada, but it’s legal for women to go topless in public in Ontario. There’s actually a top-optional Bikram studio in Toronto, which made the “news” a couple of weeks back. Perhaps saynotohate1955’s post was prompted by this and the discussion that went on about it on another forum:

    http://www.eyeweekly.com/blog/post/39692–bend-it-unlike-bikram

The article has a grabby premise but the real interest lies in its discussion of how studio owners who do not wish to follow all of Bikram’s rules and constraints operate.

I wouldn’t mind trying it out myself next time I’m back home… but I’m deficient in built-in modesty about nudity.

I’ll practice without a top if you’ll practice without your bottoms!

    🙂

the sports bra keeps the girls in place, my girls anyway. The top is so small I barely know I’m wearing it. So I’m good, thanks.

I agree with Springtime. It’s hard enough to breathe during rabbit pose as it is.

Hey fraseram – I think you are wrong actually LOL! In fact, in Canada, women won the right to go topless so it is now legal! That said, I wouldn’t have the nerve to do it….

Oops – I posted this before I saw Bonnie’s post already saying it’s legal to go topless in Canada
