Suggestions on how to improve?
I feel like I have such a hard time in poses that involve doing this.
Some days are better than others but I am no where near totally straight yet!
Hi Allison
Would you be able to tell me what specific aspect(s) you’re having difficulty with?
Is it locking the knee in all poses? Or is it locking a standing balancing leg? Or is it straightening legs and knees in hands to feet and standing sep leg intense stretch?
Namaste
Gabrielle 🙂All the ones you mentioned!
So can you get your legs totally straight when sitting? Or is it just when standing?
Have you had any knee problems? I’ve been through a number of knee surgeries and getting your range of motion back with leg extension is a major component of rehab. But I wasn’t sure if this was a problem in general or only in standing poses.
Hi Allison
Can you tell me if you’ve ever seen the blog called Opening Up Your Hamstrings With Hot Yoga?
This could be the key you’re after. You may be trying to lock your legs at times when it would serve you better to keep them bent and work on your straight or arched spine.
Try that all on for size and come back and let me know how it works.
I can’t recall if you have my Hot Yoga MasterClass manual but there are detailed instructions plus photos to guide you through. But the blog will have enough for you to go on for starters.
There are also threads on this forum about locking the knees/legs. So take a hunt around and see whether you find them. I will locate it if you can’t find them.
