I just wanted to tell you that your last 3 emails regarding this pose have helped me to take my practice to the next level! I have been practicing Bikram Yoga for 6 months and have never been able to really extend my leg until reading your tips. I let my thumbs go where they may, and moved my finger grip to just below my toes (as opposed to the arch of my foot). After I had my standing leg totally locked, I flattened my back (as you suggested) and it was an easy move to bring my alternate leg to 90 degrees! I was able to stand there quite comfortably and was able to bring my elbows down below my knees and in the second set I was actually able to place my forehead on my knee!!! That was the first time I was able to get past just standing on one leg. Thanks so much for your tips. Namaste.
