    Hi,

I have tried posting a similar post a second ago and it didn’t seem to work- so I am trying again- sorry if I accidentally post twice!

I am a Bikram yoga fanatic and usually practice 4 – 6 times per week. I have recently been offered a great job opportunity for 3 months interstate…. where there are no Bikrams studios! :-S I am really worried about how I am going to cope – both psychologically and physically! – without my classes.

I am thinking about trying a combination of the following to see what suits, in lieu of a proper Bikrams practice:

    • Using my Bikram yoga CD
    • Undertaking a modified set of poses based on Gabrielle’s suggestions in “What Bikram Poses do you do on your days off? “ and “Home Practice Timing”
    • Practising other kinds of yoga
    • Bikram suggests getting to a sauna when possible to get the heat in your muscles and joints
    • Other kinds of exercise (walking, running, swimming, etc)

I would be very interested to hear the level of success that other practitioners have had in using these methods and would love to hear suggestions from Gabrielle! I am worried that I won’t be motivated enough to use the CD to do a full class very often and I will probably be unable to replicate the heat. If looking for other types of yoga, what type of yoga is the most similar to the Bikrams style?

Feel free to redirect me if this has been addressed anywhere else in the forum.

Thanks so much for any suggestions in this time of need!

My days between classes, due to work committments etc,
I just do a half bikram class from a modified cd, first routine only,
for each exercise. Class is short enough not to lose motivtion at home and switch off.
    (approx 35-40 mins)
Still feels like Ive had a fair workout.
