I’m quite flexible and half moon doesn’t do much for me anymore. I rarely feel a stretch and I’m basically touching my hip bone. Everyone keeps telling me it’s beautiful but I’d like to make it harder for me. Any advice?

How is your alignment? Is your upper body going back, or are you parallel to the mirror. Try the latter.
Push your hips tot he opposite side you are bending — way way way out….
Stretch up and away with the arms.
Lift your upper rib cage up, stretching it up to the ceiling.

    Hi albenanger26

I would like to add to what monkeypicked has offered! Thanks mp 😉

It appears your alignment is good. So if nothing is needed to fix that, then work the weight back into the heels and pick the toes up off the ground. You will feel your muscles working to hold you up, on both the front and the back sides of the body. Be careful that you are not simply moving your upper torso back because some people have a tendency to cause a twist when they do that.

When you take the weight back there is the potential of the chest collapsing a bit so lift up through the chest as you bring the arms back…

Thanks for the tips. My alignment is very good actually. To give you a general idea, I’m touching my hip bone at the end. Is this normal? I try to push my hibs more but I’m stuck 😉 My upper body is going back, my arms are behind my ears and locked. Hands are thight together pointing towards the corner of the room. I’m pretty sure I’m not twisting my upper body. And my weight is on my heels at all time.

    Hi,

Some of us are flexible, some are not. Some of us find certain poses difficult some don’t.
I think that you’ve mastered this pose and should congratulate yourself. Relax, meditate, concentrate on your breathing, watch how beautiful you look and how everyone else is jealous.

I have noticed that some poses are very difficult for me and some are easy breezy. This however has nothing to do with me mastering Bikram yoga, but my double jointed elbows and very flexible knees (my dad has the same advantage).

So I follow my recommendation. I concentrate on the poses which are harder and enjoy myself in the easy ones.

Congratulations on mastering half moon :cheese:
