Sorry people but going to have a bit of a rant here…..
You know what I really really really REALLY hate??? I that my belly, my boobs, my big thighs get in the way of me doing lots of the poses properly!!! :o( I can’t even get my forehead on my knee with my knee MASSIVELY bent! Anyone else having these problems and what do you do to combat the bulge?

    Hi Lisetica

They are amazing changes! And you should feel good that you haven’t given up either! It’s definitely harder being around people who don’t really understand the process either! So congratulations!!
I’m struggling with my weight too. I have roughly 35kgs (77lbs) to get rid of and it’s REALLY hard going. I’m trying to focus on the internal changes, rather than the external changes coz I know that once my insides are working properly and healthy that the weight will just drop off! And I’ve found that Bikram helps me focus on what’s going on inside. It’s definitely a hard slog but we’ll get there!!!!

    Hope this helps!

Hehe, clearly you don’t have breasts! Doing some of the forward bends might involve some SERIOUS movement!!

    Hi Lisetica.

congrats on posting something which must be very frustrating and I’m sure we all go through at some stage! My suggestion is to try to focus on everything you’ve gained from regular bikram, rather on the things that you expect. Maybe write out a list of every little positive change you’ve made/felt in the last four months? I find that seeing it written down is when I realise how much I’ve achieved!! Even post it on here so everyone can give congratulate you and keep your motivation up!!

    Good luck!

    Hi Gabrielle,

I’ve been practicing for about 10 days and I’ve gone 7 times. My cramps tend to be on the outer side of my feet but often its my whole foot. They’re also quite painful when I go up on my toes. Could it be a weight issue too as I’m fairly overweight?
My elbows seem to be getting better actually. They’re still sore but not as bad.

    thanks for your help!

    Hi Sarah,

I was sick in my 3rd class of bikram the other day! So you’re not alone!! I’d done a 6am session and I think it was a combination of dehydration, not eating since the night before and being low in my electrolytes. I think it’s different for everyone. Don’t beat yourself up about it! As long as you went back and recognised that it was just a learning experience, seeing how your body reacts and how far you can push it. I’ve learned that I need to eat 2 hours before a yoga session, so 6am is not a good time for me.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi everyone!
I’m a Bikram convert! I’ve only been to 3 sessions so far and I’m hooked! I feel like I’ve deflated and my cravings have massively decreased! I think I’ve lost about 1.5 kgs already!! I’m already making better food choices. All this in just 3 sessions!!

I’d like to draw people’s attention to ‘weight loss’. I recently attended a seminar where they were talking about the power of words. The used weight loss as an example. When we ‘lose’ things, we either consciously or subconsciously want to ‘find’ them again. I don’t know about you, but this makes sense to me! I’ve always wanted to LOSE weight so of course I’ve FOUND weight! So, they recommended that you RELEASE weight like you release stress and tension, which makes it a lot easier to do! So, from now on I’m RELEASING weight and doing my hot yoga!

    Hope this helps/makes sense!
