    Hi Robert,

Thanks again for the quick reply and the discount offer. I did get a discount offer but I assumed that it was related to an early bird discount. (I am not sure this is a proper English expression but you know what I mean)

    Kind regards,

    Maya

    Hi Robert,

This most certainly helps and will also convince the significant other that this is absolutely necessary 🙂

(While buying all Bikram’s books, all new yoga gear, a yoga mat, a yoga bag, the Hot Master Yoga class, all the hot yoga classes and the yogabody supplements, he was convinced that I was entering a Hot Yoga cult)

    Kind regards,

    Maya

    Hi Gabrielle,

I started hot yoga (as more people do) to loose weight and loved it immediately for more than just loosing weight.

As soon as I started, I wanted to have all the information on hot yoga currently available and also purchased the Hot Yoga Masterclass which I would recommend to any one interested in hot yoga. It really is the missing link between theory and practice and it really helped me correcting ‘common’ mistakes. I also enjoy the shorter programms on the DVD. Being a new mum and working fulltime does not always allow 1,5 hours a day to practice (although I would like to).

Thus said (and I am still trying to loose some weight), how does the Easy Weight Loss programm ‘work’ with the Hot Yoga Masterclass? Can I see it as an addition to the Hot Yoga Masterclass solely for people who want to loose weight?

    Kind regards,

    Maya

in reply to: Amazing teachers #8019

I think everbody more or less does. I have a teacher who is practising Bikram Yoga for a long time and every time in her class I learn something new. It does not need to be a big change but it is a change nonetheless. I am always happy when she teaches.

That said, every teacher in my yoga studio has his or her own approach to Bikram and I learn different things from different teachers. And no one in my studio is mean. Mean persons have no business teaching yoga!

JIPPIE!! Good for you!! I am so proud of you going back the second time. As said by Gus, that takes a lot of courage.

Please let us know how your second time is (I just assume that there will be a second time!).

And as for the heat, I found it difficult to believe when I was a total novice, but you get actually used to the heat and you do not find it ‘offensive’ anymore.

    Dear Meadowlark,

Just a quick message relating to finances: my hot yoga studio has a programm which allows people to earn credit by cleaning the studio. The more you clean, the cheaper your lessons are.
They do not advertise it broadly. I only found out by accident while waiting in line at the studio.

Perhaps your yoga studio has some kind of credit programm too. It cannot hurt to check.

    Kind regards,

    Maya

I had to smile a bit about your comment about the elevator lady. It used to annoy the hell out of me too if people sigh or groan a lot or do not listen to the clear instructions (for example the eyes open rule gets ignored a lot) or keep fixing their costumes.

Nowadays, I tell myself that ignoring the elevator lady is my challenge for that particular class. I am standing on my yoga mat and doing MY yoga. And nothing else matters.

Elevator lady is doing HER yoga (and she is not doing yoga for a long time, otherwise she wouldn’t be breathing through her mouth). The MY yoga is actually something I read on this forum and it really sticks.

The MY yoga also helped me to focus on my own progress instead of envying others for their more ‘perfect’ poses. There will always be a person more flexible and stronger than you are.

Actually, the more you focus and the less you watch others and compare yourself to them, the faster the progress you will make. Perhaps this will help you focus.

I have to admit that I cannot help you with the monkey part. The yoga is so intensive that I have not time for monkeys. The energy I have is reserved for the physical part and I have no energy left for the monkeys. (That’s also why I practise hot yoga, it is the only thing which keeps me monkey-free).

I hope the challenge & MY yoga helps you as much as the MY yoga helped me in my practise. Based on experience, the people who annoy the hell out of me always end up standing next to me (including the boobies guy who was more interested in watching boobies in the lying poses than actually doing the poses himself. Ieuw!!).
