in reply to: Fantastic Yoga Tops #6293
They look great! Does anyone know if they can be found in the UK??
in reply to: Heart condition and hot yoga #6223Thank you both for your input, I have passed them on to my mother, she will have a talk to her doctor.. and maybe go and just sit out a class to see how she feels. Unfortunately I do not live in the same country as her so I can only be of remote help to her, she will need to make her own decision.
Maybe even join this forum! Thanks again
in reply to: Best yoga mat for hot yoga ? #6221No exactly a yoga mat, but I would really recommend Grip Dot Yoga Towel to use instead of normal towel, as it is the same length as your mat you can use the entire length of your mat, but best of all I think it is very eco friendly, it will easily dry in no time in room temperature. play.com are selling them at
£14.99 with Free Deliver.Thank you for all the suggestions!
I am learning.. I have ordered some tablytes, will let you know if they make any difference.
I would absolutely love to have some more Savassana time, in my old Astanga practice we had a good 10 min, unfortunately it seems a lot of people are rushing in the Bikram studios, in London they all seem to have small changing rooms and people make a dash for them even before doing Savassana! The other issue is parking.. during the day many places you can have a maximum of 2 hours, so by the time I park up, get in and settled I am a bit pushed for time to get back in time.
I am sure the tiredness is to do with the yoga as on my off days I do not experience it.Suzy 🙂
Thank you!
Gosh, today got completely whipped out in the afternoon, and slept for over an hour and a half, in a pretty deep sleep. I never sleep during the day unless I am unwell.
How does one figure out the dehydrated/over hydrated amounts? Also does anyone know approximately how much Electrolyte’s should one take for a session of very sweaty yoga? I am wondering if the coconut water is enough, it made a big difference during and straight after. The problem with Coconut water is the cost.
The man made Electrolytes often have all sorts of other vitamin’s too, I already take supplements of those and am cautious of taking too much?in reply to: Feet Together for Savasana? #5598Hiya,
I do the same…
Im a newbie to Bikram, so in the past my Savasana’s were only at the end of a yoga session, and I have been in a habit of having my feet hip distance apart, I also have noticed instructors saying to have feet together, so I try to remember to start with them together and just relaxing the feet so they drop outwards, so when it is time to come out of the pose it is really easy to just bring the toes part together without having to move the whole leg as I used to have to do the first few times I went. Makes a less disturbed Savasana for me.Should the toes be touching?
Suzy
Keep smiling it confuses people 🙂
in reply to: I am quite overweight and doing hot yoga #5597Hi All,
I am a newbie to all this, 12 days and 9 sessions, and am loving it. After reading this thread I am a bit more relaxed about my weight, I too have never been thin, I had lost 3 kg (no idea what that is in pounds!)only to put it on again with the yoga, I do find I am constantly hungry on yoga days , I work at home so too easy to eat when ever I want, just waiting for my appetite to ‘settle’ down as other have described. And I am trying not to look at the scales as I do feel my clothes are feeling loser and more comfortable.
Getting the whole eating drinking, replenishing thing right is tricky, but this forum has helped enormously, thank you!Suzy 🙂
