Are you replacing your electrolytes? Bananas and apricots are good for potassium. If I’m well hydrated before class and have something to eat after class that helps replace electrolytes, I’m usually feeling pretty good about an hour after class.

It took me quite some months to get up high – and even now, the only way I’ll get my feet up on my toes as high as Gabrielle can is by wearing her high-heels.

I somehow missed that the first time around… any chance we could get those pictures added to the pose clinic? 😉

It’s probably a combination of ankle flexibility and ankle strength.

I have high arches and had a lot of ankle injuries/sprains when I was younger and playing sports. My left ankle is especially problematic as I had a nasty sprain there years ago where the doctor said I would have been much better off if I had just broken it. My left ankle is definitely much tighter than my right.

In Fixed Firm, I can’t lean back any at all due to tight ankles.

I did check out the pose clinic and picked up a lot of good tips from that, but I am still trying to sort out my ankles and balance. 🙂

Thanks to everybody for the tips. I’ll give them a try.

I stopped taking the Ibuprofen regularly on Friday. I think the yoga and the heat helped. I was very pleasantly surprised at how well my ribs felt during and after yoga.

New guy here… just started doing Bikram yoga not quite 2 weeks ago. Managed to strain an intercostal muscle last week while doing floor bow.

It was painful enough that I dipped into my prescription pain meds left over from one of my kidney stones last year!

I picked up some of the Traumeel and found that, for me, it made the difference between being “uncomfortable” when taking 600mg of ibuprofen vs. “tolerable” when taking 600mg of ibuprofen + Traumeel.

Surprisingly, the yoga made my ribs feel much better. I had to skip the locust poses because of the rib pain caused by trying to lie on my arms. I also had to back off on some of the compression poses a bit.
