I just started hot yoga recently and was wondering about its affect on thyroid. I was doing pretty well (taking it easy, as I’m 54 and not in the best shape) until about 4 days ago when I had a difficult session (probably due to low electrolytes) and since have been feeling tired and “blue”; it feels like low thyroid (I do take a low dose of thyroid meds). I don’t want to lose my enthusiasm for hot yoga, and I’m hoping for some advice about this – could the yoga itself be causing this? Is there anything I should be doing to avoid this? Thanks!
