    Hi again,
    As far as balancing, I have no problem balancing while doing such poses as triangle or half moon. Awkward is fine balancing wise, but kills my legs. Anything balancing on one leg is difficult. Also, putting weight on my legs, such as half tortoise hurts and even if it didn’t I would have a difficult time getting to where I could sit Japanese style.

    I have ordered my cushy block, and it should be here any day.

    I really don’t know how to thank you for all your help! You’re amazing.

    Hi Jessica

    OK, that’s good that we can rule out other things. So now I need a little help. More description about what happened if you know, when it hurts and in specifically which poses. If you are willing to tell me how tall you are and how many pounds overweight you are, that could give me a better picture of what’s going on. For example, there may be certain poses which are a particular struggle because of body shape (for eg large breasts making it hard to hold the foot in seated positions). It doesn’t take much to make it a struggle to stand comfortably with the classically instructed “toes and heels together”. That’s very common. So go with the flow and tell me as much as you can. If you don’t know names of poses, go to the pose gallery on this website (see above “Yoga Poses” for photos and names).

    Hi Gabrielle,
    I have no idea how it happened, but I think it was putting a lot of pressure on my right leg. Pretty much any poses that involve standing on one leg is painful right now. It wasn’t painful before, but the stress built up slowly.

    Any balancing is what I have trouble with. Also, sitting Japanese style is a killer.
    Toes and heels together is very difficult, since I am knock kneed.

    I am 5ft 4 and about 80 pounds overweight, having lost 80lbs already. And yes I have very large breasts.

    Hi,
    I am doing Bikram Yoga, and it is the only strenuous activity I do. I am pretty certain it was the yoga. I am over weight, and have horrible balance. I am sure it was something I did.
