just a thought???!!!!! why not try taking exaggerated deep inhales bringing your shoulders wayyyyyyyy up to your ears hen throw out your breath exhale and DROP them down again. Do this a few times. this technique of tense and relax is one way to get a muscle to calm down

ok ok here is the scoop ( I have one and have worn it )
I practice at home in a converted sauna
    in the studio
    and in norm reg condtions
what I found was pretty much what I expected based on what I felt like during and after each practice 😛
PS calories burned is based on weight and VO2 max along with many other factors so I will give comparisons…… I am 4’6 and weigh 70 lbs I burn about 330 calories during a pretty intense hour long cardio session where my heart would be about 140-creeps up and finishing at 160 ish for the final 20 mins or so (so if you weighed 140 lbs you double calories burned to 660/hr)
in my sauna I keep my conditions slightly more intense than in the studio and burn about 260 my heart rate goes up and down dramatically through out class but stays in ‘cardio zone’ for about a total 40 mins of the class
in my studio I burn about 200 230
in reg conditions its about like going for a walk
so my summary is this …. if you FEEL like you’ve worked out and your heart is pumping …. IT IS 🙂 use your perceived rate of exertion to help guide you

it depends on the conditions of your studio and how hot they keep it my question would be how do you feel? does it feel like you are working?

yes carpet can cause this pose to be more difficult in that department!!! we have conjure up more strength to hold our feet there in place because it can be more slippery

My class back was very good and taught me a lot … my body felt different going into each pose than I remembered. it was harder yet easier?????
let me explain. It was hard because I had not done it a long time and my body was going wow this is new …. yet easier than I remembered because I was FULLY recovered, more bendy and stronger.
It went by super fast and I had a great time.

wow so sorry to hear that. depending on the conditions of your studio it could be very stressfull to your heart. This could be a good or bad thing depending. I know some with heart conditions are not supposed to stress it out and others are still allowed to to strenuous exercise. I would just check with your doctor.
My sister has a heart condition that she takes meds for and is supposed to work it out baby…. yet my dad in the sauna is a NO NO ……………………………….

I did moksha yoga a few times and had the same experience with the differences. liked both but was like comparing apples and ……. plums lol for me though over time I’ve came to the conclusion that NOTHING feels more complete in my body than the bikram sequence and that is what I primarily do. If I need a change or a class is coming into town though I will take it up for a spice of life

to stretch you could roll your calf along a small ball on the floor for a good lengthening massage

I would be int in hearing thoughts on this too…..
I have found that in the beg I did need more time to get with and stay in my ‘zen’ now though a min or two of deep breathing and a deep inner smile I find is all I need 🙂

I am not a doctor but I would think that stretching and twisting and compressing your ribcage would not be a good idea right now……. atleast until all soreness is gone

the headache IS common but not the way it ‘should’ be a headache could be a sign of dehydration or heat exhaustion so be careful and take it easy.
