I love your post 🙂 I would LOVE a nude class but yes it would be hard to find one that is appropriate. I DO practice nude in my sauna though and love it. the first time was strange to say the least. I was used to the way I looked in the mirror and being nude it gives you a different reflection. (the shorts and bra are not there to keep it in place LOL) so things ARE …… umm a little lower lets just say 🙂 On the plus side its nice to come to a place where you can do rabbit and be in complete yoga bliss instead of thinking OH MY !!

thanks for the support Cindy. Your words of encouragement are appreciated and needed believe me LOL. There are a lot of hard days but a lot of good days too. It would not be like me to pull up suck it up and feel the determination it takes to be the best you can be at what ever it is. I never do everything (or much actually!) to perfection. I screw up or just don’t know the answer sometimes ….. but if I can look back at the day and say I did my best ……. I am happy with I was able to accomplish and OK letting go of what I couldn’t

I go to a chiro and physio and find them both very helpful. Every thing we decide to do for ourselves plays a part in our journey.

I actually went to a recording studio and did my own!!!! NOw I have three classes and thinking about the one you talked about from yoga download. It does help when you are in the hot room aften to change it up a bit. I LOVE my cd though because its timing and cues that speak to me

Yes before surgery they told me about the procedure and that I would have a bionic leg LOL I am doing quite well though and the yoga has kept any tightness and imbalance twinges at bay 🙂 Before I am back to my 5/week practice and yesterday even got the head to knee contact in all the forward poses!!! thanks for the support

as an a confirmed addict on many levels we tend to reach for something when we are at unease. If we are at peace we feel no desire to run and hide in our fix of choice. (and of course I speak in terms of my experience) It does help no dout putting us at peace and quieting those ‘voices’ I do know as well though I WOULD and DO need to take extra care and other steps to remain sober I would still do some reaching out (AA?) to learn and talk and share as there are many pieces to a sober puzzle. I have been sober for 5 years and doing bikram for two and needed to take many steps in my journey.

to strengthen ‘locking the knee’ do isometric leg extensions. You sit in a chair and then lift one foot to parallel and hold. They have machines at the gym where you can do this with actual weights as well. I found this worked wonders for me. GOOD LUCK

I am familiar with your struggle as I have osteo fragility and have broken my hip not once… but twice LOL
With the replacement joint even when you are ‘healed’ and no longer have restrictions the new joint DOES have very real limitations that I would honor. I would be VREY careful in Eagle and not put pressure on your hip when bent past 90 degrees. also be aware of toe stand and spine twist and feel what is comfy in your body. Try these poses out of hot room so you can get a more honest feeling of them and your hip then apply that in the hot room so you don’t go past any danger points.
I am so glad you found this practice and it does so many beautiful things just be careful as well. Once they replace your hip they can only go in and ‘fix things’ or give you a new hip maybe once more. Their options are limited if you were to do something so please use caution.

I do practice more on the frequent side and so do need the supplements. I myself take an electrolyte tab rather tan a drink because like yourself was concerned about all the ‘extras’. I do well with this and you can pick them up at any health store and they are VERY inexpensive. (which was also a bonus) again I would try another dose of whatever you decide in the afternoon and see if tat helps. let me know

I think that can happen to anyone (even NOT in a practice!) We all have days where we just don’t feel like ourselves. I would not worry too much about it but I do have a tip for you……. try another dose of coconut milk in the afternoon before the drain sets in. Sometimes what can happen is after class we forget we still need to hydrate…. or we can OVER hydrate which can lead to low sodium levels. both have the same draining effect on our system. good luck

I have a home practice and a studio practice,,,,, I AM on the UMMM smaller scale lets just say and at home do practice either top off or total comando LOL. I have no problems and IF I felt that the others in class were mature I would totally go for it in the studio (if I would not be arrested that is) but alas here in canada it would not be legal

I have MY favs not only in brand in coverage type… the FIRSt thing I would note is the stuff she is wearing now. does it cover her mid? does she wear shorts or capris? how short are they if she does? ect.
for me I love mine LIGHT and short the less is more approach (I am not shy!) however a lot are. some wear bike shorts and tanks while others in a sport bra and tiny bottoms all depends.
I LOVE tonic and LULU as my favs (Shatki is nice too though)

THe only thing you can do is to try it!! I know that when I have to take a week or so off and come back I feel it. We were in Vegas (where it was 98-114!) and even then I noticed. Not that it KICKS me but I can feel inside my body systems working harder and faster than they need to be. Also my blood sugars are up a few points due to my body being under the extra stress. Again…. It does NOT knock me out nor do I feel gross or sick. I was just thinking that could be unhealthy to do over and over. Food for thought anyway

sounds like a good theory… the only concern I would have would be the body getting used to the heat over and over. It only takes about 3-5 days to loose that ability in our bodies and about 10 days- two weeks to be fully back in the swing. A lot happens to your body during that process that may put unneeded stress on it. If you want to follow this approach I would still hit the hot room once every couple of days (even if it’s for one set or just to rest in the heat)

I have hypoglycemia too… I have found for me going in following your second routine (eating longer before class and having an empty belly) works best however to combat the sugars I bring in a nutrient drink to class which fuels my body. I use coconut water which had sugar but a $$$ option. A good home made drink is boiling a little water w/ a herbal tea organic honey and lemon juice then pouring the smaller brewed portion over ice. The ice melts diluting the double strong drink and making an iced tea. It’s yummy gives you energy, and keeps the sugars from crashing.
