in reply to: Dizziness after twist on Eagle Pose #11072
Hi Gabrielle,
Yes, my class is a scripted one, 100% Bikram compliant :-). And I actually try to sit down as low as possible and lift the leg as high as possible, otherwise I’m not able to wrap the feet.
Just to explain a little further the “dizziness” is like I’m going to faint after I unwrap the leg.
My theory is that the circulation of blood get 100% blocked and when I unwrap the leg the flow is overwhelming, could it be?
Namaste.
Hello Guillermo
My! That’s curious! So, I gather this dizziness never happened before. Congratulations for getting ‘the wrap’.
There could be quite a number of little things that are happening. I would have to ask some questions to work it out.
>> Is your class a recital scripted class? In other words, are you being told to sit down as low as possible, and lift the leg as high as possible?
The answer to this will help guide me to the next step.
See you back here soon
Namaste
Gabrielle 🙂in reply to: 60 day challenge and discomfort. #10131Hi, just an update about my “case”. After 4 days of going to the physical therapist I showed her the four asanas that caused discomfort and she was pretty impressed about my flexibility. She decided not to give me any other physical exercises for my injured leg and she recommended me to resume exercising bikram yoga in the leg in question them even though i feel the discomfort and only stop if it transform to pain. Now the strategy seems to exercise in order to avoid encapsulation of the injury.
BR,in reply to: Back bend and red face #10126Hi,
This is very difficult to describe, definitely not near my comfort zone when i´m doing this pose. My head is way back, much more than my arms, that are locked out, I have difficulty to breath, like my throat is half blocked because of the bend. I didn’t feel anything specially wrong about my shoulders, but in general I´m trying to keep the balance. My arms are locked out in half moon as well, with my hands tight together. I don´t do anything special to prepare for the backbend, should I?

in reply to: Back bend and red face #10105Hi Gabrielle,
I went last Saturday and paid special attention to this pose, I breathed but with difficulty because my head is as back as possible, even more than my arms, making more difficult for me to breathe normally. Is there any way to improve this or it will be improved over the time?
Thanks,
in reply to: 60 day challenge and discomfort. #10081Hi,
No feedback about this? Too tough? 🙂
in reply to: 60 day challenge and discomfort. #10068Hi, I went to the physical therapist, and took a tomography of my leg. The diagnosis is that I have tendinitis. I started yesterday with laser & electro in the affected area, and they recommended me not to exercise the Pelvitrocantéreo muscles. They asked me to inform this to my Bikram instructors in order to know which asanas to avoid.
I imagine that i should avoid the following poses in my left leg, right? (in this poses i feel the disconfort)
2 Padahastasana
10 Dandayamana Biphaktapada Janushirasana
24 JanushirasanaI have a doubt if i can do this one, since i don’t feel discomfort:
5 Dandayamana Janushirasana ?Thanks!
in reply to: 60 day challenge and discomfort. #10004Hi Gabrielle, Last Tuesday (October 9th) I finished my 60 day challenge, and until today I’ve been resting hot yoga, this is 5 days. I still feel some discomfort so I wonder if i just give the rest a little more time or it would be good to see a doctor. On the other side I have the need to return to my bikram classes 🙂
in reply to: 60 day challenge and discomfort. #9939Thanks Gabrielle for your answer. I´m not offended at all and very grateful to provide me advice.
So, your advice will be to stop completely my practice until I fully recover?
In the meantime after reading your advice, I´ve been doing my practice and when the discomfort appear I stop. I have 9 days left to finish the challenge.Namaste,
