My theory is that practicing yoga is like a self-chiropractic experience. We work on the musculo-skeletal system to re-align, adjust, and re-shape our bodies from the inside oot. As long as the discomfort changes, moves, and is not dibiletating, I would work the poses mindfully and try to get regular massages.
