I guess I will just get a letter from my current studio stating how long I’ve been taking classes. I think they keep a record of almost all the classes I have been to. One of my teachers in Thailand told me I need almost daily practice for 6 months and the teacher has to “look at my body” to know whether I am ready or not. Specifically, I am not sure what they are looking for.

After taking regular classes for almost 7 months, I have noticed a difference in the way teachers teach. Some teachers just show up and talk like a robot for 90 minutes and rarely do anything to correct or guide students during or after class. Others are more helpful and talk to their students after class to give them tips on how to improve their yoga practice.

Now that is strange indeed. I got the answer straight from Shelly, the person in charge of the teacher training registration.

I talked to my teacher at my current Bangkok studio and he said he could write me a letter for me to a teacher at the Malaysian branch so that they can monitor my progress.

I just found out that the area I am moving to in Malaysia has a Bikram hot yoga studio about 25 km away from my new house. That means I will go to that studio for all my classes and stay put in that area as much as possible.

From March to October, I will be doing as many 30-day challenges as possible just to get myself ready for the teachers training in October. It seems like you do not need to do daily classes for a 6 month period but of course it helps if you do it almost everyday within a 6 month period. As long as your teacher thinks you are ready, he/she can write you a referral letter to attend the teachers training.

This is going to be an amazing journey for me. I will be ordering your product to help me in my practice in February when I am back in Singapore so that the item can actually arrive without any drama, unlike the corrupt and inefficent mail system in Thailand.
