The Hot Yoga MasterClass DVD Volume One
The Hot Yoga MasterClass DVD Volume One

Description
The The Hot Yoga MasterClass DVD Volume One is uniquely constructed by using the live soundtrack from a real class supporting instructional visual pictures and text.
This DVD can be used as a reference – or to perform a variety of classes.
What Makes It Unique?
Because it uses the live soundtrack from my classes! You’ll hear me instructing the very details explained in the manual – and you’ll also hear this in a live environment with real students (I even mention them by name during the class!).
(Click “Play” below to watch snippets from DVD Vol I)
I Deliberately Did NOT Video-Tape A Live Class …
… because, in my opinion, this makes it difficult, if not impossible to show ALL angles, and every correction visually.
Quite uniquely, I have gone a few steps further and put crystal-clear detailed and precise photographic demonstrations at each exact point on the DVD where the audio track mentions them (watch the snippet above and you’ll see what I mean).
DVD Benefits
- You can play the DVD as a stand-alone class. Or you can use it as a reference that you will come back to time and time again.
- Bullet point text appears at key moments to reinforce your quick understanding.
- “Right” and “wrong” pose alignments are shown with green checks (ticks) and red crosses ? no mistaking which is which.
- The background is pure white. No unnecessary distractions.
- I also had Volume One made so you can navigate directly to ANY POSE you wish to see specifically! (Just like a “scene selection” in a movie.)
- Even more exciting is that both DVDs – Vol I and Vol II – contain class variations!
Running out of time? Wish you had a 40-min class? Simply use the DVD menu, press “play” … and you’re good to go!
What Is The Difference Between The Two DVDs?
You are probably aware that in the hot yoga community, many poses are practiced twice in quick succession. But when I travel I love to practice a “one-set-no-savasana” class which takes about 35-40 mins. It feels great and I keep my commitment to my personal practice!
So Volume One has a variety of classes constructed from the “traditional” or more common “double-set” poses.
(Volume Two is only constructed from single “sets” – Get BOTH volumes in a special pack here Both DVDs.
Here’s EXACTLY What’s In The DVD:
Volume One
- A 35-minute class
- A 60-minute class
- A 75-minute class
- A 90-minute class
- An all standing poses “class” (double set)
- An all floor poses “class” (double set)
- Pose-by-pose menu selection
Total “running time” (all class variations): 5 hrs 50mins
* DVDs are REGION FREE, professionally pressed & printed (not burned) and will play on any DVD Player or Computer and on both NTSC and PAL systems.

Liz –
I started Hot Yoga on April 1, the day before my 47th birthday. Although I thought I was in relatively decent shape, I quickly found out that I had improving to do. And, as much as I love my studio sessions, with the heat, it is just out of my price range to attend more than twice a week. I ordered the Hot Yoga MasterClass Volume I DVD and it is absolutely wonderful. By practicing at home, I have been making continuous improvement that I can really see when I get to the studio. As a matter of fact, the instructor commented to me that I am really getting correct form with my poses and asked me if I was getting private instruction! I no longer “go for the stretch” but rather carefully work the pose, as Gabrielle prompts you to do in the video, for correctness, which is making me more flexible more quickly. I have lost 5 pounds and my golf swing has significantly improve due to the flexibility in my back and spine (a much added plus!). I would recommnend this video to anyone just starting out or feeling like your progress is not what you think it should be. This DVD rocks!!!

I thought the instruction was very easy to follow but the class would be more effective if I could actually watch people taking a class and then there were up close instruction and correction while it’s actually happening. For those of us that learn visually the way the dvd is presented can be a disappointment and challenge.

Ah! Thanks for the feedback and the 4 star review. I will take this on board for the next DVDs. The point of the DVDs is more about being undistracted by a still image against a white background. It is interesting that you think that a visual learner would find it more difficult as I have also received the exact opposite view that visual learners find it easier. I guess we each have our own preferences. I also know that any “live class” DVD is more of a challenge to work alongside to because where you are looking for a pose generally seldom coincides with a visual focus toward the television or the screen. The result? You need to be able to look at the screen whenever you can and still see the relevant picture to help you. A live class may not be able to offer this. This is one of the benefits of using the still shots and the onscreen instructions, that when you look, you are likely to see what will most help at that instant. Once you have taken on the hints, tips and techniques of Hot Yoga MasterClass you will most likely use the DVDs for the audio only and of course use the visuals as a reference.
Thank you for the feedback you have prompted me to include an information package with the DVDs that is similar to the one we provide for the manual.
